Winter In Paradise

Elin Hilderbrand

This is the first book in the series. If you love a good beach read with some twist and turns to keep you guessing, Winter in Paradise is for you.

Here is what Amazon had to say, Followed by my review of the book.

Join New York Times bestselling author Elin Hilderbrand on the stunning beaches of St. John for the beginning of her thrilling new winter series - Paradise. Winter in Paradise, the first book in the Paradise series, has everything that listeners have come to know and love about an Elin Hilderbrand novel, plus a healthy dose of intrigue.

Irene Steele's idyllic life - house, husband, family - is shattered when she is woken up by a late-night phone call. Her beloved husband has been found dead, but before Irene can process this tragic news, she must confront the perplexing details of her husband's death. He was found on St. John, a tropical island paradise far removed from their suburban life. Leaving the cold winter behind, Irene flies down to the beautiful Caribbean beaches of St. John only to make another shocking discovery: her husband had a secret second family.

As Irene investigates the mysterious circumstances of her husband's death, she is plunged into a web of intrigue and deceit belied by the pristine white sand beaches of St. John.

This exciting first book in the Paradise series will transport listeners to a new beach locale - another world that Elin knows as well as her beloved Nantucket - and have them longing for winter.

MY REVIEW:

I really enjoyed this first book. I love a good beach setting in a book. Since I don't get to travel much, I can at least escape there In my mind.

The Island of St.John sounds like a place I would love to visit.

One thing that intrigued me is the thought of what you would do If you found out your husband had a secret life, with a second family. How would the wife not know? Irene is busy renovating her victorian home and has a parttime job. Her husband's job allows him to travel. How convenient! His boss is being so evasive about all the details surrounding her husband's death so she knows things are not adding up.

This first book was hard to put down. Trying to figure out what is going to happen next kept my interest. The ending leaves you wanting more.

The second book, What happens in Paradise is available now. The third book is set to come out in October 2020.

I am looking forward to the exciting conclusion!

My rating of this book would be 4 out of 5 stars!
