Linda's Book Reviews:

 Linda's Book Reviews

My Review
By
Linda J Bowser

This book was one of the best I have read. The story is about two sisters who are twins. The one sister, Rose, is always protecting the other, Fern. Fern has a sensitivity to light and loud sounds. She has to keep her routine, or the results can be dangerous. Growing up hasn't been easy for these girls. Their dad left, and they were raised by their mother, who can switch from one mood to the next.  A bad thing happened when they were young, and Rose had to protect Fern. She made up a story, and they stuck to it. When the girls are older, the secret surfaces, which starts the beginning of things that may not be how they seem.
Fern works at the local library and is very good with the patrons. Her sister Rose is married and is trying to have a baby but can not conceive. Fern decides she will get pregnant and give the baby to Rose. She doesn't tell Rose this because she wants it to be a surprise. Then Fern meets Rocco, Wally, as she calls him, and things start to change.
I can not get into too much detail, or it will cause spoilers. There is a big twist in this book that makes you think, WOW, I didn't see that coming!
All I can say is read this book! If you do, let me know what you think. It is so good!

"A stunningly clever thriller made doubly suspenseful by not one, but two unreliable narrators." — People

Sally Hepworth, the author of The Mother-In-Law delivers a knock-out of a novel about the lies that bind two sisters in The Good Sister.

There's only been one time that Rose couldn't stop me from doing the wrong thing and that was a mistake that will haunt me for the rest of my life.

Fern Castle works in her local library. She has dinner with her twin sister Rose three nights a week. And she avoids crowds, bright lights and loud noises as much as possible. Fern has a carefully structured life and disrupting her routine can be...dangerous.

When Rose discovers that she cannot get pregnant, Fern sees her chance to pay her sister back for everything Rose has done for her. Fern can have a baby for Rose. She just needs to find a father. Simple.

Fern's mission will shake the foundations of the life she has carefully built for herself and stir up dark secrets from the past, in this quirky, rich and shocking story of what families keep hidden.
